General information on Soligorsk

Salihorsk (Belarusian: Салігорск; Russian: Солигорск, Soligorsk) is a city in Belarus. In 2010 its population was 102,335. The city it is one of the country’s newest settlements; its construction begun in 1958.

By January 1, 1964, the city already had more than 18,000 inhabitants, and in May 1963 Soligorsk gained city status. Salihorsk lies in the south of Minsk Region near Slutsk, around 120 km (75 mi) from Minsk. Salihorsk is the home city of Shakhtyor Soligorsk football club as well as HC Shakhtyor Soligorsk in the Belarusian Extraliga ice hockey league.

National currency is Belarusian Ruble.

Visa-Free travel in Belarus

According to the Presidential Decree, effective from July 27, 2018, foreign citizens of 74 countries can enter Belarus for up to 30 days and exit from the territory of Belarus only through the State border checkpoint of the Republic of Belarus “Minsk National Airport”.

To enter the Republic of Belarus in the visa-free regime, foreign citizens should have the following documents:

– a valid ordinary passport (at least 90 days beyond intended date of departure from the Republic of Belarus);

– financial means;

– a medical insurance policy with coverage for at least 10 000 euros, valid in Belarus during the whole duration of stay.

Stroitel Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Soligorsk, Belarus. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk. The stadium was built in 1976 and renovated in 2006, it currently holds 4,200 people.
